The M6sPRE is a virtually limitless preamplifier. Thanks to its wide range of inputs and its superior sonic performance, it forms the center of your hi-fi system – regardless of the price class of the connected equipment. The circuit design is pure Class A and can drive any power amplifier over any cable length.
The M6sPRE features a range of inputs suitable for both traditional and modern music sources. It has an MM / MC phono stage, two balanced inputs, three line-level connections, a fully configured tape in/out loop, and a digital USB socket.
Its sonic capabilities are breathtaking. The M6s PRE sounds sinewy, clear, and fast with tight, controlled bass.
As is customary with MUSICAL FIDELITY amplifiers, there are bypass options that make integration into an ambitious home cinema system easily possible.

Like all its M6 siblings, the M6sPRE is built to a very high standard. The front panel is made from a custom-made extruded profile with knobs and buttons made of military-specification machined aluminum. Even the Musical Fidelity logo is made of medical-grade stainless steel.
The MM/MC phono stage has been designed for lowest noise, very accurate RIAA equalization, low distortion, and a large headroom.

The M6sPRE is fully balanced, from the input to the output sockets – unlike some competing, so-called "balanced" models that place an unbalanced preamplifier between their balanced connections.
The M6sPRE utilizes a state-of-the-art pure Class A circuit. It enables this fast, pure, and clear reproduction with dense, extended bass. All this is the foundation for what is the M6sPRE's main goal: to deliver fantastic-sounding music.

Distortion is very low at less than 0.005%, and even below 0.004% in balanced operation. The signal-to-noise ratio is very high at 96 dB, and the usable frequency response lies between 10 Hz and 80 kHz. Within this very wide frequency spectrum, deviations never exceed 1 dB.
The integrated phono stage is also outstanding. It has very precise RIAA equalization with minimal deviation. The signal-to-noise ratios for both MM and MC operation deliver excellent values. Total distortion is also at the lowest level.
The asynchronous 24-bit / 96 kHz USB input connects to a PC, notebook, or Mac and enables high-quality playback of modern media with the shortest and optimally matched signal paths. Simply connect a USB cable to the computer, and you are ready to enjoy HD audio for videos, music, and streaming. Jitter and noise are incredibly low and distortion is virtually non-existent. The USB input of the M6sPRE is capable of extracting the finest details from the computer source.
A special feature of all MUSICAL FIDELITY amplifiers is the HT inputs. One RCA and one balanced XLR input each can be configured via a switch so that the incoming signal is routed directly to the outputs for the power amplifiers (HT), meaning the volume control is bypassed. Normally, these inputs simply serve as additional line-level inputs (AUX or Balanced 1).
As a natural partner, MUSICAL FIDELITY offers the M6sPRX stereo power amplifier. With its extensive connection options, bi-amping or even tri-amping configurations can also be realized.
