Product description
Product description
NAD's Masters M23 is an absolute top-class stereo power amplifier that boasts enormous output power in both two-channel and bridged mono operation, and can drive any passive speaker with ease and in the best possible quality.
The innovative power amplifier stages of the M23 combine NAD's proven HybridDigital™ circuit with the Eigentakt™ technology from the Danish digital amplifier pioneer Purifi – just like the NAD M33 and C298 amplifiers launched in 2021. The result of this exclusive collaboration are amplifier stages that operate completely free of noise and distortion, delivering 2 x 380 watts of continuous power and a dynamic power output of 2 x 520 watts at 4 Ω. When even greater power reserves are required, the M23 can also be used in bridged mode as a mono power amplifier, delivering four-digit dynamic power.
STEREO POWER AMPLIFIER
HybridDigital™ Purifi Eigentakt™ Amplifier
Purifi is a Danish technology company where some of the HiFi industry's leading developers aim to identify and eliminate the final remaining weaknesses in digital amplifier technology. The current state of their work has culminated in the Purifi Eigentakt™ amplifier, which NAD was the first company to license and previously used exclusively in the M33 BluOS streaming integrated amplifier and the C298 stereo power amplifier.
Purifi Eigentakt™ technology is technically impressive, featuring extremely low intermodulation distortion, a particularly low total harmonic distortion of just 0.0007% across the entire frequency response and power bandwidth, as well as minimal self-noise.
Pioneering the development of Eigentakt™ technology was the realization that a memory effect occurs in the components of the amplifier's output filter. This phenomenon, known as hysteresis, can lead to audible sound degradation in conventional digital amplifiers. By modifying the output stage and using the clever algorithms of Eigentakt technology, Purifi succeeded in significantly reducing hysteresis effects.
Another advantage of the Eigentakt™ power amplifiers is their absolute immunity to varying speaker loads. Their extremely low output impedance also results in a very high damping factor, which translates into absolutely clean and controlled bass reproduction.
Digital Technologies
With its efficient switching power supplies and Class-D output stages, which operate very linearly across a wide bandwidth and ensure consistent power at all speaker loads, the M23 significantly outperforms the quality of classic, power-hungry linear power supplies and inefficient Class-A/B output stages. With its precise, detailed, and dynamic sound, astonishingly controlled reproduction, and unparalleled transparency, NAD's high-end power amplifier pushes the boundaries of audiophile music reproduction.
Flexible Applications
The NAD power amplifier is recommended as a powerful partner for any high-quality stereo preamplifier or other HiFi component with a level-controlled stereo preamplifier output, such as CD players or music streamers.
Owners of an NAD M33 streaming integrated amplifier also have the option of expanding their HiFi system into a system with 2 x 700 watts of continuous power. In this setup, the bridged M33 takes over amplification for one stereo channel, while the M23, also running in bridged mode, handles the other.

Balanced Signal Transmission
In recording studios and professional sound reinforcement, balanced signal transmission is quite literally the standard. It transmits audio signals over two conductors rather than one, effectively eliminating potential interference even over long cable runs. In addition to gold-plated RCA jacks, the M23 features balanced XLR inputs, ensuring interference-free signal transmission without noise or hum.
Furthermore, the M23 offers three-stage adjustable input sensitivity, a 12 V trigger input for automatic power on/off via appropriately equipped control devices, and automatic power-on when an audio input signal is detected. A grounding terminal also helps prevent ground loops and hum in audio systems with multiple amplifiers.
High-Quality Aluminum Housing
The NAD M23 features a highly elaborate, yet extremely elegant aluminum housing. Inside, stable panels with magnetic Iso-Point feet provide a solid foundation for the multi-layer circuit boards and the complex internal construction.
As complex as the internal structure of the housing is, the exterior design is understated. The massive front panel, the top cover, and the rigid, extremely stable chassis shine in the two-tone black-and-silver look typical of the NAD MASTERS series.
