The NAP 500 DR – the first product developed for the 500 Series – is the ultimate expression of our amplifier-building expertise. For six years, we worked with highly specialized suppliers to perfect the complex circuitry and construction of the power amplifier. Wiring and assembling a single NAP 500 alone requires several days of work by our most experienced technicians. Alongside its exceptionally high power reserves, it is this meticulous care that gives the NAP 500 its breathtaking sound quality.

New Statement technology

Our engineers spent ten years developing the Statement series of reference amplifiers. In doing so, they drew on our comprehensive know-how and introduced a series of technical innovations, some of which have been incorporated into other Naim amplifiers since 2015.

As a result, the NAP 500 DR now utilizes the "009" transistors originally produced for the Statement series. These were developed over the course of a year in collaboration with a highly specialized semiconductor manufacturer to unlock greater sonic potential. Furthermore, Naim’s own discrete regulator (DR) technology provides the NAP 500 with a clean, stable power supply – one of the fundamental prerequisites for high-fidelity performance.

These two upgrades, combined with an optimized circuit layout and new components, deliver even more of the Naim-signature musicality, rhythm, and timing that made the original version of the NAP 500 so beloved.
