A large part of the electrical noise in hi-fi systems is caused by shortcomings in the power domain. These shortcomings can be caused by airborne pollution on the AC line, partially caused by the increasing amount of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and cellular signals. Airborne pollution can manifest in the form of high-frequency interference, noise, and stray magnetic fields, leading to contamination of the AC lines. A poor or "dirty" ground causes more power shortcomings than most people realize. Without an effective grounding point, the entire foundation of your sound system is compromised—and unfortunately, most listening rooms simply do not have access to a dedicated line attached to a ground rod. In these cases, a simple, effective, and internal option is required: Nordost's QKORE ground unit.

The QKORE is a parallel grounding device that provides an artificial, "clean" earth for hi-fi audio systems using both electrical and mechanical approaches. This unique product combines Nordost's patented Mono-Filament technology with custom-made Low-Voltage Attractor Plates (LVAPs) consisting of a proprietary metal alloy and a passive electronic circuit to shunt high-frequency stray noise and voltage-generated magnetic fields to a manufactured ground point, leaving a clean reference. This passive system is housed in a mechanically tuned case and equipped with gold-plated WBT binding posts that easily connect each component to an artificial ground. The QKORE3 is named after its three available binding posts, which allow you to ground each component in your system on the secondary side of a power supply, where the audio circuitry is located. For audiophiles who have monoblocks in their system or are looking for a complete solution, Nordost offers the QKORE6, which allows for grounding all elements of your sound system to its 6 binding posts, including one ground for your distribution block, two grounds for the left and right channels of your monoblocks, and three grounds for additional audio components.

To complete this comprehensive grounding system, Nordost has also developed a dedicated QKORE Wire, which is engineered to provide the path of least resistance to ground for high-frequency, low-voltage stray potentials that can impair the performance of your sound system. The QKORE Wire is a mechanically tuned cable that uses Nordost's patented Micro Mono-Filament technology, combined with extruded FEP insulation, and is constructed with a 16 AWG, silver-plated, solid-core OFC conductor. The QKORE Wire can be terminated with the following connectors: spade, banana, male XLR, female XLR, BNC, and RCA (other termination options available).
