The Sort Lift® from Nordost is the premier cable support in the consumer electronics industry and the latest addition to our Sort System. By using a patent-pending floating spring design, the Sort Lift® improves the sonic performance of speaker cables, power cords, and interconnects by minimizing the contact points of cables with the floor and reducing boundary effects, without negatively impacting the resonant properties of the cables themselves.

The Sort Lift® consists of two integral components: the base and the springs. The base is made of a stable, anodized aluminum disc that prevents the transfer of electrical charge from the floor to the cable and prevents static buildup in the dielectric itself. This base supports the proprietary Floating Spring System. The Floating Spring System uses a flexible titanium alloy spring wire that forms both the support wings and the tension wire supports. In both elements, the alloy wire is coated with FEP, mirroring the design of Nordost cables and making the supports an extension of the cable jacket, thereby eliminating any electrical interference while allowing the cables to maintain their natural resonant properties.

Sort Lifts® are supplied in two-packs. The distance between them should be between 0.5 and 1 meter so that the cable does not come into contact with the floor. The spacing may depend on the weight and flexibility of the supported cable. Although designed primarily for use with Nordost cables, any audio cable will benefit from the use of the Sort Lift®. Noticeable effects include an increased soundstage, improved dynamic range, more detail in low-frequency reproduction, and a more natural timbre to the sound.
