A fortress of a CD player! In this state-of-the-art device, everything that stands for good sound and top design has been thrown into the balance. An impressive 25 kg results from a completely resonance-free, heavy chassis with a solid aluminum plate. This top-loader is fed from above, with the CD fixed in place by a magnetic puck similar to a record weight.

Additionally, there is a massive removable main lid; everything is operated manually, similar to a large analog turntable. Mr. Liu's goal was to make it sound like one. The sound is extraordinarily subtle, emotional, and high-resolution. There are no harshness or hardnesses in the sound image that would convey the impression of digital technology. The presentation is always airy and relaxed. With two 6N30 tubes in the analog output stage, it is the optimal source for any tube or transistor amplifier.
Due to the volume control function, the Droplet CDP 5.0 HD can also be connected directly to a power amplifier or active speakers.

You should be prepared to provide space for it, however—the dimensions are substantial! If you wish, you can experiment with the included glass droplets, which can be placed on the aluminum plate in various arrangements. Believe it or not: the different arrangements and positions actually make a sonic difference!
However, those who want to get the final finishing touch out of the Droplet CDP 5.0 HD cannot ignore the massive Droplet stand.
