The MK2 version differs from the MK1 version through optimizations in the circuitry of the pre-stage and the power supply. In addition, two inputs can now be used. Both inputs are switchable and can be used for both MM and MC cartridges.

Top-tier tube phono stage in a reference design. Combines all the benefits of a high-end tube circuit with the virtues of optimal phono signal processing. The powerful power supply is external to prevent any interference with the audio signal. The entire MC branch is implemented using selected, hand-crafted wide-bandwidth transformers.

The RIAA equalization is passive, with no interference or crosstalk affecting the useful signal. Hand-wired, without signal-degrading solder joints, directly across the critical connection points. The result is truly impressive. Rich in timbre, without neglecting dynamics and ultimate transparency, the Reference 40 transports you into previously unheard musical worlds.
