Ortofon MC Vertex – High-End MC Cartridge

The Ortofon MC Vertex is a no-compromise high-end moving-coil cartridge and Ortofon's most technically advanced MC system. The cartridge was developed as a fully integrated total system, in which the stylus, cantilever, housing, damping, and generator system are precisely matched to one another.

At its core is the newly developed Vertex diamond with an advanced Line Contact geometry. The stylus features a scanning radius of 4 µm and an exceptionally large contact radius of 110 µm. Combined with the solid, laser-cut diamond cantilever, this enables extremely precise tracking of the record groove and very high resolution.

The housing and internal core structure are made of titanium, manufactured using Selective Laser Melting (SLM). A special internal structure supports mechanical stability and reduces unwanted resonances. The DLC coating also gives the cartridge an elegant black finish.

For precise signal retrieval, Ortofon relies on a non-magnetic armature, an optimized magnet system, and high-purity silver coils. The patented Wide Range Damping technology with a platinum disc and specially tuned rubber compounds controls mechanical resonances across the entire audible frequency range.

The result is an exceptionally precise and high-resolution MC cartridge with excellent channel separation, low distortion, and a very stable spatial image. The Ortofon MC Vertex is aimed at the most demanding analog enthusiasts and high-end systems where uncompromising tracking accuracy and maximum detail resolution are required.
