The little brother of the Xtension 12 Evolution guarantees superlative vinyl performance in compact dimensions

The Xtension 9 Evolution is perfect for anyone who loves the sound quality of the large Xtension but is looking for a unit with rack-friendly dimensions of 46.5cm. All our experience from over 20 years of turntable construction is reflected here. The chassis of the Xtension 9 Evolution consists of MDF filled with metal granulate, which allows for high mass and low resonance. Magnetic feet ensure optimal decoupling of the 18kg Xtension 9 Evolution, which represents a perfect symbiosis of the mass-loaded and sub-chassis principles. The platter, weighing nearly six kilograms, is quieted with a ring of TPE*. An inverted, magnetically supported platter bearing with ceramic surfaces ensures rumble levels close to the measurement limit. Two repelling neodymium magnets significantly reduce the weight load of the platter on the bearing. The smoothness of the bearing is thus significantly improved. A record puck improves the contact of the record to the platter.

The medium-weight tonearm is excellently suited for MM, MC cartridges and for MC cartridges of the Ortofon SPU N type with 1/2-inch standard headshell mounting. The conical tonearm tube and the headshell are made from a single piece of carbon fiber, thus exhibiting high rigidity and low resonance. ABEC 7 quality ball bearings allow the tonearm tube to move with almost no mechanical friction. The stylus can thus follow the record groove unhindered.

The different variants of the Pro-Ject Xtension Evolution differ in their equipment and in the size of the chassis. The models Pro-Ject Xtension 9 Evolution and Pro-Ject Xtension 10 Evolution are also available as SuperPack. SuperPacks differ from the standard units by a factory-mounted cartridge. The digit in the model name indicates the length of the installed tonearm. Evolution tonearms from Pro-Ject Audio in lengths of 9, 10, and 12 inches are used. The Pro-Ject Xtension Ortofon RS-309D comes factory-equipped with a 12-inch tonearm from Ortofon.

Exquisite veneers in olive, mahogany, walnut, rosewood, eucalyptus, and walnut burl, as well as various high-gloss finishes, make the player a feast for the eyes.
