The Reed 3P is one of the most well-known high-end tonearms from Reed Audio and is considered a hybrid of a classic unipivot tonearm and a high-precision gimbal bearing. The design utilizes three bearing points with magnetic stabilization, combining the agility of a unipivot arm with the stability of a gimbal arm.

The 3P is particularly renowned for its extensive adjustment options during playback ("on-the-fly"). VTA, azimuth, and anti-skating can be altered directly while playing. The azimuth adjustment is technically exceptional because the cartridge moves exactly around the stylus tip without changing other geometry parameters.

The tonearm is available in 9.5", 10.5", and 12" lengths and can be equipped with various wood arm tubes such as Cocobolo, Wenge, Makassar Ebony, or Teak. In addition to their appearance, these also influence the effective mass and thus the compatibility with different MC cartridges.
