The Reed Audio Muse 3C is a high-end turntable from Lithuania, developed as an extremely flexible and technically sophisticated reference player.

Its central feature is the dual-drive concept: the turntable can be operated either in friction-drive (idler wheel) mode or in belt-drive mode. Both systems can be used according to sonic preference and can even be exchanged relatively quickly. In doing so, the Muse 3C combines two fundamentally different drive principles in one device.

The system is powered by two DC motors, which together ensure a very precise and constant speed via a quartz-stabilized PLL control system. The goal is the most uniform rotation possible with minimal fluctuations, regardless of the selected drive mode.

The mechanical structure is designed for maximum stability and low resonance. The main spindle utilizes an inverted precision ball bearing, combined with a special polymer guide for lateral stabilization. This is intended to minimize mechanical noise and vibrations as much as possible.

Another technical detail is the sophisticated drive mechanism: in the friction-drive mode, motor pulleys with different diameters are used, which are deliberately designed to avoid disruptive resonance and "beat" effects.

The Muse 3C also offers a high degree of configurability in the tonearm section. It can be equipped with one or two tonearms, typically in the range of 9.5 to 12 inches in length, making it suitable for a wide variety of high-end tonearms.

For setup, the turntable features an integrated electronic leveling system (inclinometer) that helps to align the turntable perfectly horizontally, which is important for optimal tracking conditions.
