The Shelter 501 II Mono MC is a high-quality moving-coil (MC) cartridge specifically developed for the playback of mono records. Technically based on the well-known 501 series, it is tuned for maximum stability and musical naturalness when playing mono material.

In terms of sound, it delivers a very quiet, dense, and focused soundstage, with voices and instruments standing extremely stably and corporeally in the center. Thanks to its special mono stylus tracking, mono grooves are read precisely, without the typical artifacts of stereo systems.

Typical for the 501 II Mono is its analog, warm, and slightly silky character, combined with high tracking stability and very good detail retrieval within mono playback. This makes it particularly suitable for jazz, classical music, and older mono pressings.
