The Shelter 901 III MC Special is the upgraded version of the 901 III and belongs to the absolute top class of MC cartridges. This model was developed specifically for the German market and combines the proven 901 base structure with technology from the top-of-the-line "Harmony" model.

The decisive difference compared to the standard 901 III lies in the line-contact stylus profile, which sits significantly more precisely in the groove than an elliptical profile. As a result, the system achieves higher resolution, better detail reproduction, and reduced wear.

Inside, it uses the same generator as in the Harmony reference model – this ensures an exceptionally quiet, stable, and musical performance with plenty of depth and control.

In terms of sound, the system is characterized by great spaciousness, very clean bass structure ("blackness"), and an elegant, fluid playback.
