The SME Model 8 is a precision-engineered high-end turntable from the British manufacturer SME Limited. It represents the entry point into the reference class of SME turntables and builds upon the previous Model 6, though it has been significantly further developed in terms of construction, mass, and technology.

At the heart of the design is a high-mass, resonance-optimized chassis, which is CNC-machined from a specially developed, high-density polymer resin. This material ensures high stability while simultaneously providing excellent damping of unwanted vibrations. Compared to its predecessor, the mass has been increased by approximately 40%, which significantly improves smooth running and tracking precision.
