A new era of music

Naim Audio has been proud to design and hand-craft music systems in the historic English city of Salisbury for almost 50 years. On the outskirts of the city lies the World Heritage site of Stonehenge, whose Neolithic standing stones perfectly frame the movements of the sun. We did not have to look far to be inspired by the naming of this special edition. Nor did we have to deviate from our own heritage: although the Solstice is our first turntable, we have revered vinyl since Naim was founded in the late 1960s.
If you love the organic sound of vinyl, you can now finally enjoy it with the musical purity and passion that only a Naim system can deliver. Welcome to a new era of music!

Solstice Special Edition

Limited to just 500 units, this special edition includes the Solstice turntable, a new version of the iconic Naim Aro tonearm, an Equinox MC cartridge, a Solstice Series phono stage, a power supply, and a bespoke accessory set. The Solstice turntable combines core Naim design philosophies, such as multi-stage mechanical decoupling, with the use of beautiful materials. This turntable features a magnetic bearing supporting a high-mass, highly polished aluminum platter, as well as a unique, self-calibrating motor drive system that precisely reproduces the Naim sound.
The Special Edition also includes a commemorative book and the Naim Records True Stereo album – a curated collection of superb True Stereo recordings remastered for vinyl.

A legacy that lives on

Our founder, Julian Vereker, often considered a turntable designed by Naim. Unfortunately, he could never turn his plans into reality before his untimely death in 2000. However, his legacy lives on with this project and the team behind the Solstice Special Edition.

From the past to the present

Even after the introduction of the CD in the 1980s, Naim continued to champion vinyl products, producing the legendary ARO tonearm in 1989. The Aro has always set the standard for delivering incredibly natural, organic, and lifelike musical performances. Its design allows the cartridge to extract a great amount of information from the grooves of a record, but with an incredible sense of flow and correctness to the resulting sound.

High-quality material for improved performance

When redesigning the Aro for the Solstice Special Edition, the design principles and outstanding performance of the original were retained. Nevertheless, performance was further enhanced through the use of improved materials – including tungsten and carbon fiber – and the addition of an all-new, uncompromising alignment, arm height, and azimuth adjustment.

Engineered with the precision of a Swiss watch

The inner assembly of the Equinox cartridge, the moving coil (MC), is housed in a solid aluminum body machined from a single billet. A slanted, silver-polished chamfer runs along the black edges of the cartridge, simultaneously highlighting the invisible facets of the diamond stylus and serving as a nod to traditional Naim "chrome bumper" designs.

NVC TT Phono Stage

Aiming to create a great-sounding phono stage that is also simple and flexible to use, we focused on previous designs like the SuperLine, but also on the pinnacle of Naim engineering: our Statement amplifier. The Solstice Series phono stage is the first to be equipped with the voltage regulators developed for this flagship.

Unique expertise

Thanks to our Technical Director (Electronics), Steve Sells, Naim's experienced engineers have developed simple yet elegant circuits fed by our high-performance DR technology, ensuring a smooth, stable power supply that is essential for top-tier performance. Our production technicians then take high-quality components and fanatically measure, select, and match them for increased accuracy.

NPX TT Power Supply

The Solstice Series power supply is a bespoke design that powers both the turntable and the phono stage. For ultimate performance, these two different power supplies are completely isolated so that no interference occurs.

Precision work made by Naim and Clearaudio

While the Solstice Series NVC TT phono stage and NPX TT power supply are hand-crafted in Salisbury, the NVS TT turntable, ARO arm, and Equinox cartridge are produced by Clearaudio to Naim’s unique design.
