Product description
Performer m1000
Our powerhouse mono block.
With an amplifier power of 750 W (4 Ω) [1000 W (2 Ω); 420 W (8 Ω)], this purely analog power amplifier effortlessly controls any loudspeaker. Thanks to VOLTAiR technology, the m1000's performance is detailed, lively, honest, and offers musically superior sound.
Customize it
In addition to choosing between the base colors of black, red, or silver, there are further options to adapt the Performer m1000 to individual design preferences. With the included black, red, and silver faceplates, a total of nine different color combinations can be realized. The faceplates are attached using a strong neodymium magnet. Therefore, no tools are required for changing them.
Better safe than sorry
The Performer m1000 has a protection circuit against DC voltage and one against overheating.
If DC voltage (DC) is detected, the m1000's output stage automatically switches off and the Protect LED lights up red.
To protect the Performer m1000 in the unlikely event of overheating, a temperature sensor on the heat sinks continuously monitors the device's temperature.
The TEMP LED lights up yellow if the Performer m1000 gets too hot. Consequently, the output stage switches off and the fans run at high speed to cool the device down.
What goes around,
comes around.
This proverb inspired us to also send the input signal back out of the power amplifier.
This allows another power amplifier to be easily driven, for example for bi-amping operation.
Trim to fit
Relating to the Performer m1000, “fit” means adjusted. And you can adjust the input sensitivity in 0.5 dB increments. From 0 dB down to -5.5 dB.
Unlike a balance potentiometer in a preamplifier, this is the audiophile solution for acoustically difficult rooms or loudspeaker setups. Furthermore, in bi-amping operation, the loudness difference between loudspeakers can be elegantly compensated.
Strong connection
The loudspeaker binding posts can accept both banana plugs and stranded wire with a diameter of up to 4 mm.
Thus, any common type of loudspeaker cable can be used, and in bi-wiring operation, both connection types can even be used together.
However, we do not recommend connecting any loudspeaker with an impedance of less than 2 ohms.
Trigger me
The power amplifier's standby mode can be switched on and off using the AMP CTL connection between an SPL Professional Fidelity preamplifier, such as the Director Mk2.
To do this, connect the 3.5 mm jack sockets with a cable with 3.5 mm mono or stereo jack plugs. Preamplifiers from other manufacturers can also switch the Performer m1000's standby mode on and off thanks to its 12 V trigger input.
In a class of its own
Conventional solid-state power amplifiers quickly work at the limits of the components used. Unsightly distortion occurs. Tube power amplifiers also distort in this limit range, although this manifests itself in a rather more softly distorted sound image.
Thanks to VOLTAiR technology, the Performer m1000 can process significantly higher levels than regular solid-state or tube power amplifiers without distortion. All components work continuously in the optimal operating range. The result is a very pleasant, natural, and relaxed listening experience. Enjoy your music in every detail – without any listening fatigue.
Full speed ahead
In the Performer m1000, separate voltage and power amplification stages ensure a stable operating point for the amplifier circuit, which operates in Class AB.
Thanks to each having its own feedback path, back-coupling from the loudspeaker to the input stage is also excluded. This allows the SPL VOLTAiR technology to show its full performance.
Keep a cool head
Inside the Performer m1000, the six fans usually don't run at all, because 90% of the heat is dissipated passively via massive heat sinks.
Should it ever get really loud for a really long time, the processor-controlled fans remain virtually inaudible at only 19 dB(A).
Sounds good
For all devices in the Professional Fidelity series, we develop from the beginning not only according to plans, but also by ear. Many of the fundamental components are installed on the circuit boards using through-hole technology (THT). This allows us to ensure that we use the components that sound the best.
