The new STAX SR-009S features the second generation of transducers using Multilayered Fixed Electrode technology, which was introduced with the STAX SR-009. The diaphragm material of the multilayer electrodes, which is even thinner than that of the STAX SR-009, moves the diaphragms in a completely homogeneous manner and with virtually no inertia. In all playback disciplines, it once again represents the current state of the art.

The surface of the SR-009S housing is finished in silver. The ear pads and headband are covered in black leather. The headband offers extremely comfortable adjustment options with ten click-stop positions.

All STAX headphones and in-ear monitors are electrostatic designs operating on the push-pull principle. Due to their operating principle, they require a STAX driver amplifier for operation.
