It is an ancient Japanese tradition to always strive for complete perfection. Perfection, as impressively expressed, for example, in the Japanese tea ceremony. The STAX SRM-T8000 is the counterpart to this when it comes to driver amplifiers for electrostatic headphones.

It not only draws on decades of experience and the unconditional desire for perfection of the STAX developers, but it also offers an incredible variety of functions: for instance, two STAX headphones can be operated simultaneously on the STAX SRM-T8000. Like all driver amplifiers for electrostatic headphones from STAX, the STAX SRM-T8000 is connected to the recording output (Tape/Record Out) of preamplifiers and integrated amplifiers or to the preamplifier output (Pre Out) of a preamplifier. The source device to be played is then selected via the input selector of the preamplifier or integrated amplifier – however, a CD player or a record player with a separate phono preamplifier can also serve directly as a signal source. In total, the direct connection of up to three source devices is possible, one of which can even be balanced via XLR. The selection of the source device to be heard is then made on the SRM-T8000 itself. The music signal present at the input of the driver amplifier can be looped through to connect another device. If a source device is to be connected digitally, a separate D/A converter is required.

Tube input stage with two E88CC (6922) dual triodes, mounted on a sub-chassis for mechanical decoupling.

Class A output stage without negative feedback

Signal-balanced circuit design.

Volume/balance control via a quadruple potentiometer encapsulated for electrical shielding with mute and bypass.

Three inputs selectable on the front panel:
1x balanced (3-pin XLR sockets) and 2x unbalanced (RCA jacks).

One unbalanced output (RCA jacks).

Two headphone outputs.
