Driver unit: Stax SRM-T8000

It is an old Japanese tradition to always strive for complete perfection. Perfection, as expressed in an impressive way, for example, in the Japanese tea ceremony. The STAX SRM-T8000 is the counterpart to this when it comes to driver units for electrostatic headphones. Not only does it benefit from decades of experience and the unwavering pursuit of perfection of the STAX developers, but it also offers an incredible variety of functions: for instance, two STAX headphones can be operated simultaneously on the STAX SRM-T8000. Like all driver units for electrostatic headphones from STAX, the STAX SRM-T8000 is connected to the tape/record output of preamplifiers or integrated amplifiers, or to the pre-out of a preamplifier. The source device to be played is then selected via the input selector of the preamplifier or integrated amplifier – however, a CD player or a record player with a separate phono preamplifier can also serve directly as a signal source. In total, up to three source devices can be connected directly, one of which can even be balanced via XLR. The selection of the source device to be heard is then made on the SRM-T8000 itself. The music signal present at the input of the driver unit can be looped through to connect another device. If a source device is to be connected digitally, a separate D/A converter is required.
