The legendary 009 model is back!

The SR-009 is the prototype for STAX's high-end models. With its large, round diaphragm and fixed electrodes, this model has shaped high-end headphone culture. Production was discontinued with the introduction of the new flagship model, but it is now returning due to numerous requests from fans worldwide. With changes to the housing color, cable material, and chassis, it is now available at a more affordable price than when it was originally launched.

MLER (Multi-Layer Electrode)

The SR-009 (released in 2011) is the forefather of the current high-end models, the SR-X9000 and SR-009S. The key technology for high-end models, MLER (Multi-Layer Electrode), traces its origins back to this model. By using thermal diffusion bonding technology, which joins photo-etched metal plates at an atomic level under vacuum, this new fixed electrode achieves exceptional flatness and low resonance. The SR-009D remains the most affordable way to experience the sound of current STAX high-end models.

Replaceable cable

The SR-009D features a replaceable cable, which is now standard on all current models. This makes the headphones even more practical, as they can be upgraded with high-quality cables later on and are easy to repair in the event of a cable break.
