Divinely inspired

The Olympia builds upon the Rainier, featuring an upgraded cantilever assembly that reduces moving mass, resulting in smoother groove tracking, more nuance, and an extended frequency response. The slightly reduced output compared to the Rainier lowers the noise floor in an already quiet design, improving imaging and providing a realism rarely found in this class of cartridge.

Hand-crafted in Japan

From Oyster to Reference, each Sumiko phono cartridge is crafted by hand in Yokohama, Japan—near the waters where the oysters for which they’re named reside. Sumiko sonically selects the finest materials that together deliver performance that has enlightened generations of listeners. Each design is thoroughly tested until perfected. The production is then executed by world-class cartridge artisans with a collective eye for precision and quality.

Suited for light to medium-mass tonearms. Upgrade with a Moonstone, Wellfleet, or Amethyst stylus. Can be used with an RS78 stylus to play 78 RPM records.
