DESIGN

IsoTek’s EVO3 Super Titan is arguably the most powerful power cleaning system for audiophile hi-fi components in the world. It was developed specifically to meet the demands of high-quality power amplifiers and – provided with an appropriate domestic power supply – is twice as powerful as the EVO3 Titan in terms of current delivery, as the 32 A version of the Super Titan enables a continuous power output of up to 7,360 watts. The power cleaning network reduces common and differential mode interference by approximately 85 dB across the entire audio frequency range, down to 5 Hz.

The EVO3 Super Titan employs a newly designed and improved version of IsoTek’s unique Direct-Coupled© circuit technology. Together with a group of four seven-stage filters in a combined series and parallel circuit, it forms a “super” power filter whose design is significantly superior to that of a single larger filter. To cover an extremely wide frequency band, the circuits consist of custom-made components. The audible benefits: The Super Titan dramatically reduces the noise floor and provides a larger soundstage with improved separation between individual instruments, a more airy and spacious presentation, and more precise timing. Bass is deeper and more contoured, resulting in a sound image that is more holographic overall.

The Super Titan drastically reduces both differential and common mode interference, as well as cross-contamination between connected components. This is ensured by multiple power cleaning stages for each output socket. Most power filters of this type have interconnected, series-wired outputs—which is not particularly clever, as differential mode interference generated by connected electronics then overlaps from one output socket to the next. The electrical architecture and construction of the Super Titan is significantly superior to such filters.

The Super Titan’s highly rigid outer chassis, made of aluminum, is held by a specially developed support structure called ISIS© (Independent System Isolation Support). The main unit is clamped between two fixed upper and lower plates, each consisting of two ultra-dense panels and a special resonance-damping material in between. The entire structure rests on four massive aluminum pillars.

ISIS© was developed in collaboration with Kurt Olbert, founder of Clearlight Audio and a recognized expert in the development of specialized materials for audio applications. ISIS© performs two tasks: First, it reduces the impact of airborne vibrations and microphony as well as subsonic vibrations and resonances within the device itself, which negatively affect the performance of the electronics. Second, its shape, rigidity, and resonance-damping properties provide a perfect platform upon which other components can be placed, and its stackable design saves space when more than one IsoTek unit is used.

The EVO3 Super Titan measures 500 mm in width, 500 mm in depth, and 300 mm in height. On its rear panel are four completely independent high-current output sockets for operating power amplifiers, monoblocks, active speakers, or a subwoofer. Further IsoTek power cleaners can also be added and powered via the System Link, e.g., an EVO3 Genesis or EVO3 Super Nova.

KERP© (Kirchhoff’s Equal Resistance Path) ensures consistent resistance and identical power delivery across all outputs. No output receives voltage before the next, as is common in other products with series-wired outputs.

The internal wiring conforms to the highest standard, using high-purity, silver-plated Ohno Continuous Cast solid-core copper conductors, ensuring low resistance and the transmission of high currents. The conductor is first surrounded by a fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) spiral, then protected by an extruded FEP dielectric, creating a virtual air dielectric (FDA).

The internal wiring of IsoTek products is matched to IsoTek power cables. By maintaining commonality in construction and material properties, optimal conductivity is guaranteed.
