The SUN 833-X is one of ThivanLabs' flagship products, which was officially introduced in March 2022. The Sun-833X is an integrated amplifier consisting of three separate blocks, including a driver block and two power blocks. This design represents a different creative way of thinking compared to the conventional design of pre-power amplifiers. The "POWER Stages - DRIVER Stage" separation is an extremely superior technical solution of the ThivanLabs SUN-833X. This contributes to the cleanliness of the sound. Accordingly, the naturalness of the sound is expressed without any impairment or alteration.

The outstanding innovations of the SUN-833X

The Sun 833-X has achieved excellent low noise among tube amplifiers with output transformers, which is far below the human threshold of perception, thanks to the following effective solutions

+ The 833 power blocks operate at a voltage of over 1000V. The filament current of the 833 tube is very high at up to 10A, so the tube emits extremely high heat, which can easily cause the amplifier to hum. Separating the large power transformers from the driver block is the optimal solution to avoid noise in the driver stage.

+ The driver stage uses 12AU7, 6SN7, and 6H13C tubes, which operate at voltages below 350 V. All pre-driver tubes are housed in a separate block to effectively reduce the noise of the power stage.

+ The driver stage is a completely new, innovative design compared to the previous version SUN 833 (2018). The amplifier circuits from input to output use entirely high-linearity triode tubes (12AU7, 6SN7, 6H13C, 833), which gives the amplifier near-zero distortion.

Advantages of the technical solution for the 833 tubes

- The 833 tubes, operated in Class A - Single Ended 155W, deliver excellent performance to all speakers powered by the SUN-833X. The generous output power of the Sun-833X gives it the ability to amplify signals with extreme resolution and control. This is the great result with which our new generation of amplifiers takes music enjoyment to an unprecedented level. In the field of amplifiers, the Class A circuit is the best amplifier circuit for the best sound, and 155 W Class A is the strongest output power for tube amplifiers. For audiophiles, the Class A circuit is the pinnacle of perfection! A sine wave signal without radial distortion at maximum output power ensures an ultimate sound for the listener.

- The use of interstage transformers in the connection between the 6H13C and the 833 tubes ensures the best detail and finesse in the high-frequency range, while the bass becomes deeper, fuller, and warmer than when using coupling capacitors.

- Do not use feedback to express the details of the sound and the emotions in the music in the most complete, natural, and elegant way. Feedback-free design is one of the most important technical solutions of ThivanLabs tube amplifiers to preserve the high-fidelity sound.

- The use of a fully toroidal power transformer for both the power stage and the driver stage is also an effective solution for noise reduction. The power supply for the high-voltage 833 tubes, the 833 filament winding, and the driver stage are separate and are supplied by separate toroidal transformers to reduce noise.

- The power source filter for the 833 tubes uses 22 oil capacitors and extremely large coils to provide the tubes with abundant energy and achieve a clean and detailed sound. In this way, the sonic power is very well expressed during the peaks of the music.

- The bias for the 833 can be adjusted via two variable resistors on the driver block (200-270mA).
