The Eros-9 is the first model in the Eros series, which has been under development since 2016. After 6 years of research and development, the Eros-9 is being replaced in 2022 by the Eros-9 ULTRA.

The Eros-9 (Mark 1 version, also called the standard version) was first introduced in 2016 with a 15-inch mid-woofer combined with a 1-inch titanium horn tweeter in a very compact enclosure compared to other 15-inch woofer speakers on the market. The Eros-9 MK1 offers the full and warm sound of the 15-inch mid-woofer and the detail of the 1-inch horn tweeter. This model caused quite a stir in the audiophile community in Vietnam. It is also the speaker model that paved the way for ThivanLabs' speaker products to win over music lovers and audiophiles in Germany and Europe.

With the goal and ambition to develop better products, the ThivanLabs research and development team spent 2020-2021 further researching and leveraging the strengths of the Eros-9 speaker model to develop other models in the Eros series. The Eros-9 Anniversary was improved and the sound quality was raised to a new level. Its sound is very balanced, detailed, sophisticated, and dynamic, and it became a new version - EROS-9 ULTRA.

In testing and developing the Eros series models, various methods were used, such as technical laboratory measurements and real-world tests in various forms of demonstrations and setups, ranging from listening to music at home to small and large-scale concerts, etc.

Through the testing process, many technological optimizations and sound reproduction innovations were made to achieve a new level of high fidelity and dynamics. Accordingly, the Eros-9 Ultra was also changed in its technical solutions and refined in its structure and crossover to meet the new sound standards we define for the EROS. The sound thus reaches a new level of musical expression, conveying music to the listener in an emotional way.

Externally, not much seems to have changed with the EROS-9 ULTRA, but internally there is a major shift in technical thinking. For instance, the crossover has been optimally adjusted to create a harmonious combination of the 15-inch mid-woofer and 1-inch tweeter drivers for an incredibly smooth and captivating midrange. The listener will naturally and voluntarily immerse themselves in the music with the sound of the Eros-9 Ultra.

The EROS-9 ULTRA was designed to reproduce the emotions of music even more maturely than the previous version and to convey these emotions to the listener in a natural way. The listener will truly forget everything around them and focus only on the music.

New technical improvements of the Eros-9 Ultra

- The crossover design has been optimally improved to achieve a large harmonic intersection between the frequency ranges of the tweeter and woofer, resulting in a very smooth and flat midrange. The Eros-9 Ultra can be easily operated with both tube and solid-state amplifiers.

- The bass and midrange were the strength of previous Eros-9 versions. This continues to be the strength of the Eros-9 Ultra, along with an outstanding improvement in the treble range.

- A new design of the speaker feet has given the Eros-9 Ultra a very high level of stability. This effective anti-vibration makes the sound extremely clear and detailed.

We are always striving for high sound fidelity. The Eros-9 Ultra has participated in many practical tests, where it amplified the sound of classical concerts by a symphony orchestra in a very large auditorium and was tested in rooms of various sizes with vocals and musical instruments to compare direct and reproduced sound. The Eros-9 Ultra has tested its sound reproduction capacity with many music genres such as classical music played by an orchestra, musical instruments, vocal music, and even digital music. In tests in these realistic reinforcement environments, the Eros-9 Ultra created an enormously wide, open, and airy soundstage with a very clear rendering of sound details. This speaker and the system truly reproduced the sound as if it were being played live.

A special edition of the Eros-9 Ultra with AMORA isolation speaker feet - M8080 - provides absolute vibration damping for a super clean and detailed sound.
