The V5 Corvus is the evolution of the highly successful Polaris, reconfigured to provide nine output sockets. It represents a cost-effective upgrade for any audio or audio-video system, offering improved performance including surge protection as well as an excellent price-performance ratio. The Corvus can be easily mounted to the wall behind your components.

DESIGN

The V5 Corvus is a compact and elegant power cleaning and distribution bar measuring 380mm in length, 170mm in width, and only 50mm in height. It features nine separately switched outlets, all connected directly to the PCB. Most power filters of this type feature interconnected outlets wired in series – which is not particularly clever as the differential mode noise generated by connected electronics will then cross-contaminate from one output socket to another. The electrical architecture and construction of the V5 Corvus is vastly superior to such power strips.

The unique Delta filter topology of the V5 Corvus is ten times more effective than the recommended standard, delivering more than 20 dB of power optimization at 1 kHz (reference 600 Ohm), which then improves to nearly 42 dB at 10 kHz. Leading experts agree that at 10 kHz, high-frequency interference (RFI) begins to affect performance. This is also linked to the amplifier's ability to suppress power supply noise. This electrical engineering ensures first-class filter performance for both common mode (RFI) and differential mode noise. The PCB tracks also have double the standard copper weight and are silver-plated.

This unique circuit delivers clean power to its nine outlets – each independently isolated to prevent cross-contamination from differential mode noise. This is combined with the KERP© (Kirchhoff’s Equal Resistance Path) technology developed by Isotek to ensure equal resistance and uniform power delivery to all outlets. The internal wiring is of the highest standard, a unique 2 sq mm design with pure 6n oxygen-free copper conductor strands, each silver-plated, offering low resistance and high amperage. Aerospace-grade fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) with a very low dielectric constant is used to protect the conductors, providing an ideal dielectric for the contact of the internal power supply system.

Furthermore, in the new V5 version, surge protection is increased to 45,000 A, which not only protects the circuit but also your valuable connected equipment via IsoTek’s unique sequential protection system.

The V5 Corvus also includes a System Link connector, which allows for the expansion of the existing outlets while maintaining star-grounding by using only one wall socket for the entire system.

A wall mounting system is also included, which allows for easy mounting of the product behind your component rack if desired.

The internal wiring of IsoTek products is optimized for IsoTek power cables. Maintaining commonality in construction and material properties ensures optimal conductivity. The multi-award-winning EVO3 INITIUM power cable is also included in the scope of delivery.
