The van den Hul Colibri XGP is a handcrafted high-end MC phono cartridge and is considered one of the audiophile reference solutions in the Van den Hul product line. Developed as an evolution of the Grasshopper series, it combines finely tuned components, a minimized magnetic design, and an open, low-resonance construction for extremely precise and natural music reproduction.

Each unit is personally crafted and optimized by A. J. van den Hul. Special features include the VDH‑1S stylus with a 2 × 85 µm tip, an open carbon-nylon body for resonance control, as well as specialized windings (e.g., gold coils in the XGP version) for outstanding detail resolution, clear sound character, and musical depth.

In terms of sound, the Colibri is characterized by great openness, exact channel separation, and dynamic responsiveness – ideal for discerning vinyl listeners who want to get the best out of their records.
