The Velodyne SPL-X 18 is the flagship of the SPL-X series and counts among the most powerful high-end subwoofers on the market. It was developed for uncompromising low-frequency reproduction in demanding home theater and hi-fi environments.

The SPL-X 18 features an 18-inch carbon fiber driver with a four-layer 102 mm voice coil, a dual-spider suspension, and a triple-vented motor system. This design ensures maximum control and precision—even at extreme levels.

The sealed enclosure consists of high-density fiberboard (HDF) with 38 mm wall thickness and internal bracing, which minimizes resonances and increases sonic fidelity. The integrated Class-D amplifier delivers 1,800 watts RMS and 2,500 watts peak power, controlled via a modern DSP platform.

For perfect adaptation to room acoustics and listening position, the SPL-X 18 offers an AutoEQ function, controlled via app and microphone. The app allows for the adjustment of phase, delay, subsonic and high-pass filters, as well as a fully parametric 6-band EQ and storable presets.

The variety of connections includes XLR (balanced), RCA (unbalanced), and high-level inputs, allowing the subwoofer to be flexibly integrated into different systems. Control is convenient via app or IR remote control.

The frequency response ranges from ±10 dB: 13–220 Hz and ±3 dB: 20–180 Hz, with an adjustable low-pass filter of 30–200 Hz. The phase is continuously adjustable from 0–180°, and the delay up to 500 ms.
