Product description

ROONing even better

Anyone who has already looked into Roon certainly knows that for this brilliant music management and player software to operate, a so-called Core must be available on the network. This is where the actual Roon software is stored; this is where the heart of Roon beats. It is therefore a no-brainer that one should exercise special care when selecting the hardware for this part of the system. And this is where the Waversa Wcore 2.0 comes into play: hardly any other manufacturer has dealt as intensively and deeply with streaming and the optimization of the Roon environment as Waversa. It is no wonder that all Waversa devices are "Roon Ready."

An impressive result of this development work is the Waversa Wcore 2.0. It is a fully Roon-compatible Roon Core and streaming server with four battery-powered LAN ports (two 18650 lithium-polymer batteries with an intelligent automatic charging system), which also fulfill the extremely helpful filter function of the Waversa WsmartHub. Its LAN ports are clocked with extremely high precision using high-end OCXO clocks – in combination with WNDR (Waversa Network Direct Rendering)*, the infamous jitter doesn't stand a chance. As already mentioned, the Wcore 2.0 also functions as a streaming server if desired. For this purpose, two internal slots for mSATA SSDs (optional) are available.

You can control the Waversa Wcore 2.0 via smartphone, tablet, or PC. You can integrate any NAS as external music storage. We recommend WNDR-capable Waversa models such as the Waversa WminiNAS MK2. Thanks to the four LAN ports, you can usually connect all your Roon Ready or WNDR devices – and if you ever need more, you can fall back on the Waversa WsmartHub.

*WNDR devices detect and connect to each other automatically within the network. They send and receive audio data with extremely low latency. In this way, WNDR significantly reduces interference in the network and has a positive effect on audio streaming.
