You will hardly believe your ears when you hear the sound the Waversa WminiHPA MK2 conjures from your headphones (and power amplifiers) – despite its extremely compact form factor. The Waversa WminiHPA MK2 is quite possibly the most advanced headphone amplifier and preamplifier with an integrated D/A converter and streaming that money can buy. After all, it is the only DAC currently available in a headphone amplifier that features a WAP (Waversa Systems Audio Processor) as well as independent 44.1kHz and 48kHz clocks.

And it will never let you down: It understands digital data up to 24Bit/384kHz and processes native DSD. You are therefore prepared for any eventuality. What’s more, it is impressive both inside and out: it has a housing milled from solid aluminum, as well as a SABRE E9018k converter chip. The fully balanced signal processing means that with your Waversa WminiHPA MK2, you get a damn powerful output stage and absolutely no noise in the signal.

Of course, as a streaming player, the Waversa WminiHPA MK2 also works with WNDR (Waversa Network Direct Rendering), a dedicated transmission protocol optimized for audio. WNDR devices automatically detect and connect to each other on the network. They send and receive audio data with extremely low latency. WNDR thus significantly reduces network interference and has a positive effect on the sound during audio streaming. Thanks to its integrated DLNA media server, the WminiHPA MK2 can also make external USB storage available as NAS via the USB port.

WAP and WAP/X

Waversa understood that digital music largely ignores harmonics due to the limitations of its resolution compared to real music. WAP and WAP/X provide a remedy: WAP is an FPGA-based audio processor that interprets the digital signal in order to bring it closer to an analog signal – real music – once again. WAP/X, as an extension for WAP, then reconstructs the even-order harmonics of real music (up to the 32nd harmonic) that were lost during digital recording or digitization. This makes even digital music sound poignantly authentic, spatially widely fanned out, and natural.
