Product description

The simplest, most entertaining, and most powerful streaming bridge

The performance and sound of hardware products are determined the moment they are manufactured. This presents the problem that individuals have to replace devices to pursue their favorite sounds. Waversa introduces the Wstreamer 2, which overcomes this issue and is equipped with a powerful, independently developed FPGA that allows every user to obtain the sound that is optimal for them.

Powerful WAP Processor: Comprehensive digital signal processing

Waversa has understood that digital signals partially impair or even ignore harmonics due to the limitation of their resolution compared to real music. The WAP provides a remedy: it is an FPGA-based audio processor that interprets the digital signal in order to approximate it to real music again through various algorithms.

The WAP replaces parts of the DAC chip's signal processing, allowing it to be adapted much better and more efficiently. There are different types of WAP processors that are used depending on the device. The quantitative influence of the corrections can be adjusted in each case.

WAP/X is the central algorithmic WAP correction and the "software core" of WAP. When digitizing music signals, the structure of the even-order overtones of the music (so-called harmonics), which is extremely important for sound authenticity, is partially changed significantly or even lost. WAP/X is an algorithm that reconstructs the overtone behavior of 300B triodes. 300B tubes possess a very special, pleasant sound signature that transports these fine harmonic details exceptionally well. This makes even digital music sound movingly real, plastically spatial, and natural.

Dynamic Range

This function adjusts the output dynamic range. As the level increases, the resolution rises, the soundstage widens, and the expressiveness of faint sounds is revived. Lowering the level creates a setting suitable for those who prefer a softer, warmer sound over sharper resolution.

Audio Output

Select the output option: either USB/WNDR output or coaxial.

WNDR Transport Layer

Select the transport layer for WNDR (Waversa Network Direct Rendering), a proprietary protocol exclusive to Waversa Systems. Based on Level 4, Level 1 (Critical) can be used in environments where the optimal network environment is configured, and Level 5 can be used when more flexible network support is required.

WIDR

WIDR (Waversa I2S Direct Renderer) is a proprietary I2S-based transmission technology that can be used when connecting to Waversa devices that support this method. Unlike the conventional I2S method, which requires separate terminals and cables because clock and signal must be sent separately, this is a unique core technology from Waversa that enables the transmission of more information even with existing coaxial terminals.

Unlike PCM, which supports up to 24-bit/192 kHz, WIDR transmits at 28-bit/192 kHz and can transfer all WAP processing information, which is expected to significantly improve sound quality on all devices used with WStreamer 2.0 or higher.

Native DSD Support

Have you ever had the experience of not really being able to enjoy DSD sound sources? This is usually because devices generally only allow DoP (DSD over PCM) transmission. WIDR, on the other hand, is a unique standard that is completely different from PCM and allows the transmission of the original DSD signal via a single coaxial cable without the detour through DoP, and therefore sounds much more natural.

Low-noise Signal Transport

Unlike SPDIF, which always generates a signal in all data blocks, WIDR only transmits a signal in the data blocks where data is actually present. Compared to SPDIF, which inevitably maintains a high-noise flow state, the noise level always remains low.

5V DC output port of the WLPS power supply

Equipped with a powerful linear output port based on WLPS technology, it can create sonic synergies with other devices that use 5V DC. Most devices that use DC power utilize poorly manufactured SMPS adapters, which cause unimaginable noise and can have a very negative impact on sound quality. Experience the details hidden in the noise with the DC output port with clean power supply.

Custom Isolator

The Wstreamer 2.0 is equipped with a noise isolator that is a smaller version of the conventional Ext series. This is a unique technology used globally only by Waversa. It is a device that significantly improves sound quality by removing tiny noises that occur during digital signal transmission.

Note: The Waversa Wstreamer 2.0 is a dedicated and highly specialized streaming bridge without an integrated D/A converter. An external D/A converter is required for listening to music, either stand-alone or integrated into active speakers or pre- and power amplifiers.
