The Pro-Ject X2 brought the high standards expected of a high-end turntable into an accessible price range. The joy of fine details, build quality, and high-quality materials remains the same in the X2 B: the satin acrylic platter, three exclusive lacquer finishes, and the satin-waxed walnut veneer underline its elegant appearance.

With the pre-mounted and adjusted Ortofon MC Quintet Red moving-coil cartridge, the X2 B enables a decisive improvement in sound quality: it represents the entry point into the True Balanced connection variant in Pro-Ject's portfolio. In combination with a balanced cable that keeps the four signal-carrying conductors and the shielding consistently separate, and a suitable phono preamplifier, every vinyl lover benefits from fully balanced signal routing, a higher signal-to-noise ratio, and crystal-clear vinyl sound.

The electronic speed selection offers convenience when switching between 33 and 45 RPM.

More mass in the chassis, platter, and tonearm

The heavy, dense, and rigid MDF housing reduces unwanted resonances to almost immeasurable levels. Inside, there is a highly developed DC/AC motor control system that, in combination with the electronic speed switching, provides clean and stable energy to the motor system.

The conical tonearm tube of the slightly longer tonearm of the X2 B has a larger diameter and is made of a carbon fiber/aluminum composite with optimal damping values. This gives it high rigidity and impressive low resonance. The high-quality tonearm bearings compensate for the higher mass of the arm and allow the arm tube to move with almost no mechanical friction. The wiring is consistently balanced with complete separation of signal-carrying conductors and shielding.

An Ortofon MC Quintet Red MC cartridge is mounted and adjusted ready for play. This makes True Balanced connection possible straight from the factory, for example with the Pro-Ject Connect it Phono E Mini-XLR cable and the Pro-Ject Phono Box S3 B preamplifier.
